Deep dives and high tides at New Dutch Wave during SXSW17

The New Dutch Wave will make serious impact from March 12 through 15 at South by SouthWest 2017 in Austin, Texas. Dutch Media Innovators are surfing the New Dutch Wave. 

The clubs Barbarella & Swan Dive, located near 6th street, will be transformed into the New Dutch Wave house. Top talent from the Netherlands (including Dutch Media Innovators) will provide for a broad, diverse and exciting cross-dimensional program. 

On Sunday, March 12 the New Dutch Wave expo at the SXSW Trade Show as well as the New Dutch Wave house will be officially opened by His Royal Highness Prince Constantijn of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Special Startup Envoy to the Netherlands.

Each day, the New Dutch Wave house will bring an inspiring day program called the “Deep Dives” which will bring keynote speeches, hands-on workshops and panel talks on: Augmented and Virtual Reality; with the world premier of Sensory Reality Pod of Sensiks and the pre-launch of the AR-book of Galit Ariel. Sessions will be conducted on Intelligent Future with Artificial Intelligence expert Danijel Bonacic (Dept) and Internet of Things in cooperation with ThingsCon Amsterdam.

Dutch Media Innovators are part of the New Dutch Wave. You can find us in the New Dutch Wave house with spectacular demo's and interesting sessions:

New Dutch Wave Start-Up program & nights

Fifteen selected Dutch startups will present themselves on stage, also as part of a pitch competition in front of international investors and incubators; Workshops will be organized around Tech for Good and under the guidance of What Design Can Do, topics such as sustainability and tech-innovations will be at the forefront of discussion. 

Towards the end of the day “Creativity Rules The Wave” and focus shifts to creative showcases, musical performances, arts and design and film. Diverse interactive installations of MediaMonks, Next nature Network and Halal will be showcased. Startups such as Minibrew, Bynder, Sensiks, Beer in a Box and A-Boss will demonstrate their products, and a select group of innovators invited by the Netherlands Fund of Creative Industries will showcase their work. Wednesday afternoon, March 15 will be all about the Dutch Impact Party with performances by Jennie Lena, Klyne, Michael Brins, MICH, St.Tropez and Dive Like Maria.

At night “The Tide” kicks in, with Happy Hours and BBQ’s in collaboration with DJ’s presented by Amsterdam Dance Event.
